Just Join in Festival 2018
On Wednesday 24th January we attended the Just Join In festival at Wigan Youth Zone. We started with a Yoga session called Animalates and once we had warmed up and practiced our Yoga moves, we got to show them to the Animalates characters who came to say hello – they were really impressed. We practiced ball skills and basketball in the multi-skills session, playing a game with the Wigan College students. We then did bowling with the most enormous ball we had ever seen before moving on to Boccia and New Age Kurling with Wigan Athletic. The PTFA have said they will support us in buying our own Boccia and Kurling sets which we are very excited about as our skills are really improving. Finally we headed to the Dance studio for Street Dance with Wigan Youth Zone dance instructor Corrine. It was excellent and St Wilfrid’s children impressed her with their timing and moves. What a fantastic trip! The children gave their best efforts at everything, joining in and supporting each other to make it a great day.
