Courtney Fry Visit

Boxer Courtney Fry visited us as a Mental Health Ambassador as part of a Mentally Healthy Schools pilot to support the emotional wellbeing of our pupils. This is Ellie’s report.

On 12th March we went into the Key Stage 2 hall to meet a famous boxer called Courtney Fry.

He talked to us about mental health and why it is important.

After break, we played some mind tricking games using counting, claps and ankle taps. Next we got into groups, with team captains, and they were McKenzie, Tegan, Lewis, Evie and Callan. We had to write what calms us down when we get angry and what is healthy for our minds e.g. fruit and veg, going for walks.

After lunch, we made our way to the Key Stage 1 hall. First we played a decision making game e.g. do you like crisps or chocolate?

Next, we got activity booklets and answered questions on how to keep our minds and body healthy.

As a break, we were given a hoop and played a game where we had to pass it through a circle of people without letting go of each other’s hands.

We played another game with a hoop. This is where we had to step into the hoop and move it over our bodies before stepping out again.

Finally we went to the library to discuss what we had done during the day.
