Wigan & Leigh Hospice Scarecrow Festival

The sun shone brightly for our Scarecrow Festival and we were delighted to have so many people come along to join in the fun. Mrs Goulding and her samba drummers entertained the crowds, we had a wooden spoon scarecrow parade and everyone admired the fantastic displays each year group had created. Our PTFA and Year 6 pupils ran a cake stall stocked with cakes and biscuits kindly donated from our families. Thanks to everyone who bought or baked for us and special thanks to the bakers of the gluten free cakes who made some of our pupils very happy!

We had some very special guests; the Mayor of Wigan and her consort, Leon 'Mayor for the Day', Matthew the Mayor's Cadet and Christine and Vicky representing Wigan and Leigh Hospice who toured the displays and chatted to the children who had created them.

Congratulations to our scarecrow design competition winners Corey and Annabelle. Their designs were judged to be the winners by a team of pupil judges! Well done!

Together we raised a whopping £1020.30 to support the work of Wigan and Leigh Hospice. Thank you to everyone who took part in our Scarecrow Festival.
